This project report documents the implementation of the Clean Water for All initiative—a climate-resilient water access program under Nature Synch , aimed at improving rural water quality through Nadi Filter (Biosand Filter) technology. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Association for Humanitarian Development (AHD) Pakistan and Aajiz Foundation as the field implementation partner. The project successfully delivered clean water to over 300 households across three villages in Punjab, significantly reducing the prevalence of waterborne illnesses and enhancing public health resilience.
Nature Synch, a multidisciplinary platform focused on ecological balance and
sustainability, identified the rural water crisis in Punjab as a priority area. Groundwater
and surface water in regions like Jhang District are often contaminated with biological
agents and nitrates, leading to serious health risks. Traditional boiling methods waste
fuel, and chemical treatments are not accessible for low-income families.
The Nadi Filter—a locally tailored Biosand Filter —was selected for its affordability,
ease of use, and environmental compatibility. The intervention aligns with SDG-6 (Clean
Water and Sanitation) and SDG-13 (Climate Action) .
